Working closely with the Northeastern University Special Archives, as well as personal archives from Susan Symonds (LGBTQ+ event photographer and activist), and Ellen Wade and Maureen Brodoff (plaintiffs in the Goodridge v. Department of Public Health as well as GLAD’s 1993 adoption case), we co-curated an exhibition around the fights for same sex marriage in Massachusetts and discrimination the LGBTQ+ community has documented over the decades. Pulling from Gay Community News, Men of All Colors Together, and court documents from Ellen Wade and Maureen Brodoff, we were looking to create a dialogue about how these problems are still visible today, and the different ways we addressed the problems facing the community.
